Sludge Processing

Sludge Processing Facility For BMA Mine

AKS was asked to provide a dewatering system to manage sludge from BMA’s Goonyella Riverside Mine.

This consisted of an advanced inclined screw press, with a conveyor belt system transporting the dewatered waste to sludge bins for short term storage, prior to transport. The system was designed to process up to 20kL/day of waste activated sludge, providing dryness: of about 20%.

The system provides excellent sludge dryness, with the inclined sludge press technology providing significant advantages over other conventional dewatering systems, including low energy consumption, low wear and maintenance and high efficiency.

.

Designed to process up to 20kL/day of waste activated sludge, the system provides dryness of about 20%, significantly reducing the waste volume.
