Protex Water was engaged to design and build a compact Rainwater Reuse Filtration Plant for Mainfreight’s logistics facility at Melbourne Airport. Measuring just 5.1m x 1.7m x 2.7m (LxWxH), the Elementz Rainwater Reuse Plant uses the plant uses 4-stage filtration to remove particles, sediment, taste, colour and odour, with ultrafiltration for final polishing.
The system also includes UV and chlorine disinfection to protect against bacteria and viruses, delivering potable-quality rainwater for site use. The system can be operated via a large colour touchscreen on the system’s control panel or remotely via the building’s BMS.
The system continuously monitors the water quality using state-of-the-art instrumentation and adjusts accordingly to ensure the defined water output standards are maintained.
