Dugald River Mine is a major zinc, lead and silver mine located near Conclurry, Queensland. As part of the mines facilities upgrades, Protex Water worked closely with mines owners MMG, to design, supply and commission a treatment plant to feed the mine’s village facilities with potable water.
The Protex Water Elementz Drinking Water Treatment plant , takes water from Lake Julius and puts it through a process of Primary Filtration with AFM Media, followed by Ultrafiltration and Granular Activated Carbon as the last stage for taste and aesthic purposes. The water is also disinfected with Chlorine before being sent to the Village’s potable water supply tanks.
The plant is equipped with high-quality components throughout, including Grundfos, IFM, Lutz and ABB instrumentation ensuring reliability and ease of maintenance in a remote mining environment.
A comprehensive chemical dosing system is also included, including Hydrochloric Acid, Caustic and Chlorine which supports the UF CIP System and any disinfection that is required.
Fully automated operation is achieved through an integrated control system with local HMI interface and remote monitoring capability, allowing plant performance to be monitored and optimised with minimal operator intervention.
