Working closely with the Mainbrace Constructions, AKS was asked to supply a Class A domestic sewage treatment plant to manage a potential flow of up-to 100kL/day for a major redevelopment of the AMPOL Service Centre at Pheasants Nest on the Hume Highway.
Packaged in two 40’ containers, the Elementz MemPak system utilises a 5-stage treatment train featuring a modified Bardenpho biological process, providing superior nitrogen and phosphorous removal.
The system is split neatly across the 2 containers with the control room in the left-side container, including Roots style blowers with DO control, Endress & Hauser instrumentation, Siemens PLC and chemical dosing, while the right-side container houses the post anoxic tanks and submerged membranes. The containers were upgraded to meet BAL-19 building standards, providing safe roof top access via a central stairway where the permeate tank, automatic rotary drum screen, and mixers were located.
The system is also enabled with remote monitoring, allowing offsite control via a smart device, providing around the clock access and control.
Treated water from the Elementz MemPak system is held in onsite storage tanks and used on demand to supplement the Service Centres toilet flushing and irrigation water use needs.
